EDITDUO / LOCAL OBJECT COLOR GUIDE
Change one object’s color. Keep the light and shadow.
Use include and exclude points to select clothing, a bag or a prop, inspect the mask, and preview a new hue in your browser. No account is needed, and you can download a PNG. This local tool is available now; it does not automatically decompose the whole image.
First selection downloads a model of about 160MB plus runtime files. Your image stays on your device. Use a current Chrome version and allow time for the initial download.
Open image studioFrom selection to download
Open the image and Object color
Upload a PNG, JPG or WebP in the image studio, then choose Object color in the toolbar. Save a project copy first if you have important annotations. Imports may be resized to a maximum 1800-pixel edge and reduced further to meet size limits; keep your original file separately.
Select with include and exclude points
Choose + Include and place points inside the object. Switch to − Exclude for unwanted background areas, then choose Select object. You can also move the selection cursor with arrow keys and add a point with Enter.
Inspect the full boundary
The green overlay marks the pixels that will be recolored. Check cuffs, hair, shadows and overlapping objects. Add points and select again when needed. Trim selection inward can shrink the edge by 0–3 pixels; it does not replace inspection. Colored logos or patterns inside the selection will also change hue.
Choose a target hue and preview
Pick a color or enter a hex value, then choose Preview color. This changes hue while keeping brightness, saturation and transparency, rather than filling every pixel with the same paint color. Gray desaturates; black or white areas do not gain arbitrary color. Use Show edit base to compare.
Download, or apply and save the project
Download PNG saves a result without changing the workbench. To keep an adjustable selection, choose Apply color, then Save project in the workbench. Applying clears old coordinate notes; workbench Undo restores them during this session. Reopen the project and choose Adjust last color in Object color to revise the saved selection.
Try a colored item of clothing
For example, change an orange shirt toward blue. Confirm that the selection covers the shirt, inspect the collar, sleeves and boundaries with the arms, then preview. Review folds and shadows, any logo that should remain unchanged, and whether skin or background entered the selection. This is a suggested workflow, not a result or timing guarantee for a particular image.
Questions and limits
Why does white clothing barely change when I choose blue?
This tool keeps brightness and saturation. Black, white and low-saturation areas cannot become arbitrary vivid colors by changing hue alone. Start with a colored object to evaluate it; this is not material replacement or generative relighting.
What if the selection includes a neighboring object?
Add include points inside the target and exclude points in unwanted areas, then select again. Inspect the entire boundary. Fine hair, translucent materials, reflections and complex overlaps may remain difficult; keep the original and do not apply an unsuitable selection.
Is my image uploaded, and do I need an account?
Local object recoloring needs no account. Selection and recoloring run in your browser; the image is not uploaded to a model service. First selection downloads a model of about 160MB plus runtime files. Speed and availability depend on your connection and device. A current Chrome version is recommended, and you can cancel and close.
Does a project save the full edit history?
A project retains the original and the last object selection. Earlier applied changes remain in the working image; the full Undo history is not saved. Save separate project copies for versions you need. Local auto-save is not a substitute for downloading a backup.
Is this automatic layer decomposition, text editing or prop replacement?
No. This workflow uses points to define a region and changes its hue. Automatic layer decomposition, generative text/prop edits and automatic changes throughout a video have separate acceptance requirements and are not open. Paid checkout stays closed.
Need text or layout changes?
Select the area, write the exact replacement or layout request, and export feedback. Read the poster text and date guide. Its generative steps are marked as unavailable and are separate from local object recoloring.
